I’m Emma Riebe, a cellist, teacher, and creative living in the mountain town of Flagstaff, AZ. I've built a life centered around sharing and creating music, allowing me to enjoy the outdoors, practice hot yoga, and connect with the tight-knit community here—all while doing what I love in my favorite small town.
I studied cello performance at Northern Arizona University under Mary Ann Ramos, Tanya Carey, Avi Friedlander, and Carey Cheney in Suzuki pedagogy. I won NAU's Concerto Competition and had the honor of performing the Elgar Cello Concerto with their symphony orchestra. I’m also a member of the Flagstaff Symphony Orchestra and actively perform chamber music in the local and Arizona communities.
As a teacher, I’ve spent years studying Suzuki Pedagogy and building my cello studio in Flagstaff, as well as teaching at local schools and workshops. My relationships with my students and their families make teaching a bright and energizing part of my day. I believe that with the right mentor, environment, and dedication, anyone can become an artist, and I cherish my role in each student’s journey.
with the right mentor, resources, and hard work, becoming a beautiful cellist is accessible to anyone
